In an era where audiences are increasingly embracing fresh ideas and radically distinctive storytelling, mQuest Movies' upcoming film BeeP promises to stand out as a high-concept crime drama driven by intelligence, emotion and suspense. Written and directed by L. Shanmuga Sundar, the film combines rational thinking with a touch of fantasy to deliver a gripping cinematic experience.
The film stars Raaghav Ranganathan of Nanjupuram fame in the lead role, alongside Prerna Khanna, Yamini, Sarpatta Parambarai's Priyadharshini, and Nithish Veera.
The music is composed by acclaimed Telugu composer Prashanth Vihari, best known for scoring the Rashmika Mandanna-starrer Girlfriend. Cinematography is by Pradeep Padmakumar, who has worked extensively in Kannada cinema and Bollywood. Editing is handled by Abhishek from the Malayalam film industry along with Vignesh, a former associate of editor Don Bosco. The action sequences have been choreographed by Ramkumar, who recently worked on Train, starring Vijay Sethupathi and directed by Mysskin.
Director L. Shanmuga Sundar says
“After completing my MBA, I was working in the IT sector, but my heart was always in cinema. Leaving my corporate career behind, I directed a short film titled Kattu, based on the tragic 1981 burning of the Jaffna Public Library in Sri Lanka. The film earned a nomination at the National Film Award competition.
BeeP marks my debut as a feature film director. It is a high-concept crime drama that seamlessly blends rationalism with psychological fantasy. Cinematic thrillers often rely heavily on weapons like knives and guns, but in this story, the human intellect is the sharpest weapon of all. With high-concept films being a rarity — we've crafted this story in a way that remains deeply engaging and accessible to the mainstream audience.
A single photograph holds a treasure trove of hidden details. Our protagonist possesses an extraordinary ability to decipher not just a woman's emotional state through a photograph, but also unravel the intricate web behind a complex crime. His friends put that gift to work using him as matchmaker — reading how the people they are interested in actually feel about them. When a real challenge arrives, he turns the same ability to uncovering the mystery. Whether you view it as intuition or sharp analytical deduction, there is a compelling underlying reason for his ability, and that forms the core USP of BeeP.
The plot revolves around a tight-knit group of six friends. Rather than focusing solely on the protagonist, every character — including the leading lady and the ensemble of friends — plays an integral role in driving the narrative.

With production fully wrapped, BeeP is currently going through the Central Board of Film Certification process and is scheduled to hit theatres worldwide on 18 September.
The film's first look poster was officially unveiled on 29 July by acclaimed director Rajkumar Periasamy, producer Suresh Kamatchi, and actors Natty (Natraj Subramaniam), Deepak Dinkar, Suhasini and Komal Sharma.
